For the past 6 weeks I have been on a daily intermittent fasting of 1:23. Week to week I would sometime extend to a 46 hour fast and then to a 70 hour fast . I have lost approx 17 lbs and I feel my skin is more loose. I am able to get through these fast with only 2 cans of diet soda and water, nothing else. If I get hunger pains I just drink a bottle of water and I am good. My question is whether I am breaking the fast if I drink diet soda. I believe… Read more »


Hi William. Yes diet soda does break a fast. Try switching to carbonated water if you wish to have the bubbly to help with the hunger pangs.

Another thing I would like to mention is that the only Facebook group we are associated with is The Obesity Code Network and the Longevity Solution. We are not part of the Jason Fung Fan club or any of the other group using Dr. Fung’s name.
